Part-Time - Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist - Telehealth is an option for this opportunity!

We are looking for a Part Time - Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to our team at SUWS of the Carolinas. This opportunity is for 4-5 hours per week, ideally on Tuesday & Thursday.

SUWS of the Carolinas is a leading wilderness program that puts its entire focus on treating the many issues that children and teens between the ages of 14-17 might be going through, ranging from behavioral issues to substance abuse problems.
Common Issues Treated in our Wilderness Treatment Program
We understand that sometimes, extra measures need to be taken to help children and teens, which is why we have developed a therapyprogram geared towards encouraging consistent and effective care for these young individuals. Some of the most common issues in children and teens that we treat at SUWS of the Carolinas include the following:
  • Low self-esteem
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Substance abuse
  • Emotional regulation
  • Trauma
  • Anger issues
  • Family conflict
  • School failure

Addiction & Mental Health Programming for Girls

Luna serves adolescent females and transgender students who struggle with a variety of symptoms related to trauma, attachment, and conflicted family systems. Symptoms include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, emotion dysregulation, body image issues, suicidal ideation, self-harm, social struggles, defiance, autism spectrum, and impulse control.

Addiction & Mental Health Programming for Boys

The Bravo group is powerful in its ability to create a context for boys to discover and affirm their strengths. Through the use of corrective success, the focus of the Bravo group is to improve awareness of limiting beliefs and maladaptive behaviors in order to shift focus from failure and inadequacy to self-assurance, competency, and the ability to bring about opportunity.

  • Licensed Psychiatrist in the state of North Carolina
  • Advanced knowledge and clinical skills through an appropriate educational program
  • Board Certification required
  • Ability to work hours to meet the needs of our clients
  • Experience in child/adolescent treatment preferred
