Under the Clinical Therapy Supervisor, the Speech Therapist consults, evaluates, and provides professional pathology therapy to patients of all ages in their homes as prescribed by the physician. Treatments are carried out to restore function, prevent disability, and/or decrease pain. The Speech Therapist is responsible for maintaining high standards of care as established by the profession and according to their level of knowledge and experience.
Part time 24 hours per week.
A. Experience: Minimum one to two years recent clinical Speech Therapy experience is required. Knowledge of the principles, practice and techniques of Speech Therapy.
B. Education and Training: Masters Degree in Speech Therapy from an accredited college or university required.
C. License Certification Current professional licensure as a Speech Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Therapy by the American Speech and Hearing Association. Valid Drivers License, CPR certification or obtained by completion of introductory period.
D. Other Requirements: Knowledgeable of the Professional Standards of Practice. Strong communication, organization and clinical skills.
Conditions of Employment
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
