Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Chief Engineer under the direct supervision of the Portfolio Chief Engineer, will support of one or more properties planning, organizing, and controlling mechanical and maintenance operations, including those related to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Works and assists engineering operations and directs vendors and subcontractors.

Utilizes advanced skills to perform complex preventative maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds.

Monitors building system operations and performance.

Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Associate-level degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proven trade skills and knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial or institutional buildings with complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems.

Good communication skills both written and verbal.
